Since 2016 we have been supporting the youth center “Kinderhaus Charité” in Uvira (region South Kivu in the East of the DR Kongo) in cooperation with ChildFund Deutschland e.V. and the local support organization OPDE Congo (Œuvre Humanitaire pour la Protection et le Développement de l’Enfant en difficulté).

Currently 40 former street children aged 6 to 14 are being looked after. In addition to a sheltered home with regular school attendance, the children, who oftentimes have traumatic experiences, are also given psycho-social support with the aim of re-integrating them into families.
